What Happens If You Exceed Your Plan's Order Limit

Every Regios Discounts plan includes a monthly order limit: the number of orders your discounts are applied to per billing period. Your plan's limit is shown on our Shopify App Store listing, on the Billing page in the app, and in our Pricing FAQ, and has been part of our pricing since August 19th, 2023.
When you go over your limit, we notify you in three ways: a notice inside the app, a message in your support conversation (if you have one), and an email to your store's contact address. The in-app notice shows exactly when your grace period ends.
You then have a 14-day grace period to upgrade to a plan that fits your store's volume. Upgrades take effect immediately, and you can upgrade from the Billing page in a couple of clicks.
If no action is taken by the end of the grace period, your discounts are automatically disabled. Nothing is deleted: your discount configurations are kept exactly as you left them.
To restore your discounts, upgrade from the Billing page. Your discounts are re-enabled automatically after the upgrade; there's no need to rebuild anything.
Common questions
Will I be charged extra for going over?
- Only if you've turned on automatic upgrades (see below). Then, for a billing period where you go over, we bill the price difference between your plan and the smallest plan that covers your usage, as a one-off usage charge.
- Without automatic upgrades, we never charge extra. We ask you to upgrade to the plan that matches your usage instead.
- We never take a cut of sales.
Does my plan upgrade automatically?
Only if you choose to. Automatic upgrades is an optional setting for monthly plans:
- On: if you go over your limit, your discounts keep running, and we bill the difference to the plan that fits as a usage charge for that billing period only. There's no grace period and no pause. Your plan itself doesn't change, so a quieter month costs your normal price.
- Off: you get the 14-day grace period described above, then your discounts pause until you upgrade.
You approve automatic upgrades on Shopify's billing page when you choose your plan, including a monthly maximum for usage charges (the difference between your plan and our largest plan). Any discount on your plan applies to the usage charge too. You can turn it on or off anytime on the Billing page. It isn't available on annual plans, because Shopify doesn't allow usage charges on annual billing.
I wasn't aware of the limit
Plan limits are listed on the App Store page you installed from, the Billing page in the app, and this helpdesk. The notices we send before disabling include the exact deadline.
Pricing enforcement is forward-only, and past overages aren't billed.
