Product Attribute Discounts

Our app gives you the ability to create discounts based on additional product/variant attributes, such as:

• Variant title/product option
• Product type
• Variant price ending (the cents of the price, for example .97)

Due to the Shopify Functions Input Query Complexity Limitation, these specialized product/variant eligibility conditions had to be put in their own separate discount type, rather than being available in other discount types. Also, due to this limitation, several features that are available in other discount types are not available in product attribute discounts (though you can submit a feature request).

Use cases

• Creating discounts based on variant title/product option
• Creating discounts based on product type (for example, only "Shirts")
• Creating discounts based on how a price ends (for example, extra 20% off every price ending in .97)

How to create product attribute discounts

To create a new product attribute discount:

1. On the home screen of the app, click "Create discount."
2. You can use the AI Discount Generator, a pre-built template, or start from scratch.
3. If you click "Start from scratch," Scroll down to "Advanced discount types."
4. Click "Product attribute."

Variant title eligibility conditions

Options:

• Include or exclude products: Whether you want variants matching the conditions to be eligible, or NOT eligible for the logic.
• Compare by: How to compare the variant titles of items in the cart to the pre-defined values you provide. For example: "Contains," "Starts with."
• Variant title [contains/starts with/etc] one of these strings: : A list of pre-defined values to compare variant titles in the cart to.

Product type eligibility conditions

Options:

• Include or exclude products: Whether you want products matching the conditions to be eligible, or NOT eligible for the logic.
• Compare by: How to compare the product type of items in the cart to the values you provide: "Is," "Is not," "Contains," "Starts with," or "Ends with."
• Product types: A list of values to compare product types to. The condition matches if any one of them matches. Be sure to press ENTER to add a product type.

Comparisons are not case-sensitive. Products without a product type are compared as empty, so an "Is not" condition includes them.

Variant price ending eligibility conditions

Use this when the cents of a price mean something in your store, for example .97 for clearance and .99 for outlet items. Choose Variant price ending as the product eligibility.

Options:

• Include or exclude products: Whether you want variants with these price endings to be eligible, or NOT eligible for the logic.
• Variant price ends in one of these cents: The last 2 digits of the price, like 97 for $59.97. Add as many endings as you need, and press ENTER to add each one.

Things to keep in mind:

• It checks the variant's selling price before any discount, not the compare-at price.
• It checks the price in the currency the customer is paying in. If your markets or catalogs set their own prices, each one is checked as it is.
• Every ending must be exactly 2 digits. A whole price like $49 counts as 00, and $49.90 counts as 90.
• In currencies without cents (for example JPY), every price counts as 00.
• You can use it in Check if conditions, If in cart conditions and Buy X steps, and combine it with other eligibilities like collections.
