My Discount Isn't Applying In The Cart/Checkout
There are a few different reasons you might not be seeing your discount applying.
We have created a "Test discounts" page in our app, that lets you:
Preview how discounts will apply with different items in the cart, different customers, etc.
Troubleshoot why your discount isn't applying as expected, with plain English feedback.
Using this page, you might be able to immediately solve your problem. Check out this tutorial to learn how to use it.
If you'd prefer not to use the "Test discounts" page, continue reading to explore the possible reasons your discount isn't applying as you would expect.
If your discount is limited to only specific customers (for example, if only customers with a specific tag can use your discount), then it will only show up on the cart and checkout page if either:
The customer is logged into your store
The customer has already filled in their name, email, etc. on the "Information" page in the checkout.
Until either of these conditions is met, Shopify doesn't know who a customer is, and it can't feed that information to our discount.
Shopify sometimes caches previous discount calculations.
For example, if your cart had 3 items before you created your discount, and it still has the same exact 3 items, with the same quantities, there's a good chance Shopify hasn't asked our app to calculate the discount yet.
Or, if your cart is the same before and after logging in, then Shopify is not going to trigger a discount recalculation.
Or, if your discount was applied before logging in, then Shopify is not going to trigger a discount recalculation. Your discount will not be seen in the cart when you log in.
We recommend updating your cart by adding/removing items, or increasing/decreasing the quantity, which should force a recalculation of discounts.
If you're still having issues, read on.
By default, our app does not apply discounts to products that are already on sale.
Double check the "Products" page in your Shopify admin dashboard to ensure that the product/variant isn't already on sale before reaching out to support.
For more information about this, and to learn how to override this behavior, read this article.
Due to limitations in Shopify itself, if your discount has many conditions, you might see the discount stop applying when there are many items in the cart.
Please read this article for an in-depth explanation of the cause, and available workarounds.
Examples of discounts where you might run into this issue:
A discount that checks for many different collections
A discount with many "Check if" steps chained together, using "Then" and "Otherwise"
A volume discount with a high number of quantity breaks
The easiest way to troubleshoot - use the "Test discounts" page

Possibility 1: You are not logged in
If your discount is limited to only specific customers (for example, if only customers with a specific tag can use your discount), then it will only show up on the cart and checkout page if either:
The customer is logged into your store
The customer has already filled in their name, email, etc. on the "Information" page in the checkout.

Possibility 3: Your product has a compare at price/is already "on sale"
By default, our app does not apply discounts to products that are already on sale.

Possibility 4: Your discount is too complex
Due to limitations in Shopify itself, if your discount has many conditions, you might see the discount stop applying when there are many items in the cart.
